Psychotherapy that fits you
“I believe that a different therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has a unique story."
— Irvin D. Yalom
Tailored Approach
No two people walk the same path, which is why I believe psychotherapy should be as unique as the person seeking it. I take an integrative approach, drawing from a wide range of evidence-based modalities tailored to your specific needs and goals. These include person-centered therapy, modern psychodynamic therapy (insight-driven), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure with Ritual Prevention (ERP).
My couples therapy approaches include Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman, and Discernment Counseling.
Our work together begins with getting to know you — your story, your strengths, and your hopes for therapy. From there, we’ll collaborate to identify your goals and craft a personalized path forward. Along the way, I will provide tools, insights, and adjustments, all grounded in the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, and mutual respect.
In my therapy room, you’ll find a space where you are truly seen, heard, and accepted. I strive to create an environment that feels warm, collaborative, and engaging. While I deeply listen, I also actively participate in our sessions by offering thoughtful feedback, asking meaningful questions, and introducing practical tools to help you navigate life’s challenges. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings, untangle challenges, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you're here to process, heal, or grow, my goal is to empower you every step of the way.
Specializations
I specialize in helping clients navigate challenges related to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders (including social anxiety, performance anxiety, and generalized anxiety), life transitions, pregnancy and postpartum experiences, career changes, relationships, self-worth, and identity.
While I welcome clients from all backgrounds, my approach tends to resonate deeply with athletes (including those transitioning into athletic retirement), high-achieving perfectionists, career changers, pregnant and postpartum parents, and individuals navigating struggles with identity, self-worth, and relationships.
In our work together, we’ll explore the unique challenges you’re facing and build practical tools and meaningful insights to help you move forward with clarity, self-assurance, and resilience.

Meet your therapist
Psychotherapy is about you—your journey, your growth, and your healing. But it may be helpful for you to know a little about the person walking alongside you.
I’m Kaitlin Lowey. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent 12 years climbing the corporate ladder, finding success but yearning for something more fulfilling. I bring my diverse life experience as a former corporate leader, collegiate athlete, amateur musical theater performer, and mom, into my work as a therapist, creating a compassionate and understanding space where you feel seen and supported.
My training at Northwestern University, where I earned my Master’s in Counseling, provided me with a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, including Psychodynamic Therapy, ACT, CBT, ERP, IFS, EFT, mindfulness, and the Gottman Method. I tailor these approaches to meet your unique needs and goals, whether you’re facing anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, relationship struggles, career uncertainty, identity crisis, self-worth challenges, or life transitions.
In addition to my clinical work in community mental health and private practice settings, I’ve been fortunate to share mental health insights as a regular contributor on WFLA’s Bloom TV. This has deepened my commitment to making mental health support accessible, relatable, and stigma-free.
